Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

Yuravia is a product of Compareor LLC. For any privacy question you can reach us at contact@compareor.com. More background on the About & Contact page.

2. What we collect

We only collect what's needed for the product to function:

• Account data — email address and a password hash (handled by Supabase Auth). Optionally a chosen handle, display name, bio, avatar, home country, and timezone.
• Travel data — the trips you enter (country, city chain, check-in and check-out dates, and optional companions).
• Profile preferences — your chosen map palette, theme, language.
• Social graph — accepted follow relationships, reactions, and comments on trips visible to you.
• Minimal technical data — your IP address may be briefly used to confirm a country change before you save a trip (you confirm before anything is recorded). Server logs may temporarily retain IP + user-agent for security purposes.

3. Cookies

Yuravia uses a small number of strictly-necessary cookies, plus optional analytics cookies that are set only if you accept them in the cookie banner:

• sb-* — Supabase authentication session (keeps you logged in).
• days_theme — your light/dark/system preference.
• days_locale — your language preference.
• _ga, _ga_* — Google Analytics, created only if you accept analytics in the cookie banner. Decline (the default) and they are never set; you can withdraw anytime via “Cookie preferences” in the footer.

4. Why we process your data

• To provide the Service — store your trips, render your dashboard, run the residency engine, and let you follow friends.
• Security & abuse prevention — basic server logging and rate-limiting.
• Communications about the Service — important account or security notices (we don't send marketing email).

5. Where your data is stored

Account, travel, and profile data are stored in Supabase (Postgres) with Row-Level Security so only you and the friends you have accepted can read your data. Avatars are stored in Supabase Storage with a per-user folder policy.

6. How long we keep it

Your data lives in your account for as long as you keep the account open. When you delete your account, your profile, trips, friendships, reactions, and comments are deleted from our database within 30 days.

7. Your rights (US state privacy laws)

Depending on the US state where you reside (e.g. California under the CCPA / CPRA, Virginia under the VCDPA, Colorado under the CPA, Connecticut, Utah, Texas and others), you may have the right to:

• Know & access — request a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
• Correct inaccurate personal information from the Settings page.
• Delete your data by deleting your account or by emailing contact@compareor.com.
• Data portability — receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format (CSV export covers this).
• Opt out of sale or sharing — not applicable: we do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising.
• Non-discrimination — we will not deny you the Service, charge you more, or give you a lower-quality experience for exercising any of these rights.

8. Sharing data

We do not sell your data. The infrastructure providers we need to run the service are Supabase (database, auth, storage) and our hosting provider. If — and only if — you accept analytics in the cookie banner, Google Analytics (Google LLC) also receives pseudonymous usage data (page views, device/browser, approximate location) so we can see how people find Yuravia; decline and no analytics data leaves your browser. We do not sell your data or use any data broker or ad-targeting partner.

9. Children's privacy (COPPA)

Yuravia is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13 (consistent with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act). If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please email contact@compareor.com and we will delete it.

10. International users

Yuravia is operated from the United States. If you access the Service from outside the US, you understand that your data will be processed in the US and other jurisdictions where our infrastructure providers operate. By using the Service you consent to that processing.

11. Changes to this policy

We'll update the date at the top of this page when we make changes and notify signed-in users for any material change. If you keep using Yuravia after a change, you accept the updated policy.
